Directions
for use:
- Ensure the tail head area of the cow is clean and free of any loose hair.
- Apply a paint strip, approximately 15cm in length and 3-5cm wide, along the spine in the same direction of the hair growth of the tail head. Additional coats may be applied and may aid performance of product.
- The paint is rubbed off by crumbling and hair will stand on end when standing cows are mounted, a clear indication of Estrus activity.
- Reapplication is required to confirm Estrus activity.
- TAIL PAINTTM will remain on cows that have not cycled. Duration subject to conditions and correct application.
Uses of TAIL PAINTTM
HEAT DETECTION AID
Applied to dairy cattle prior AI. The paint is applied to the cow per directions for use. When cows mount each other, a sign that the standing cow is in Heat, the paint will be rubbed off by crumbling and hair will stand on end, thus a sure sign that the cow is ready for AI.
MARKER DURING MATING PROGRAMME
Can be used for marking cattle during the full AI Season as part of a Mating Programme for large herds of cattle. By way of example, a suggested colour usage for this purpose would be:
- RED – apply approximately 3 weeks after cow has calved. Paint which has rubbed off indicates that cow has started to cycle. Untouched paint indicates that cow has not cycled.
- GREEN – apply just before commencing with AI programme. Paint which as rubbed off indicates that the cow is in heat on daily basis.
- BLUE – apply indicating AI is successful.
- YELLOW – apply once pregnancy confirmed.
GENERAL MARKER
Can also be used during non-mating season as general marker on cattle, e.g. marking of dates, numbers, weening, medicated cattle, etc
